NOTES FROM THE CALL:
The exponential demands of today’s high-speed, high-change projects can easily take a toll on one’s personal life. Faced with eXtreme projects, many project managers and their teams end up living lives that vacillate between frantic and quiet desperation. If we are not careful, instead of having projects, our projects will have us. As a result, most project managers would rather be doing something else.
Doug DeCarlo is the author of the landmark book, eXtreme Project Management:  Using Leadership, Principles and Tools to Deliver Value in the Face of Volatility.  Doug will draw from his own journey and his work with over 250 project teams from around the world.  He will share proven practices for how to get excited about being a project manager, despite today’s project-crazy organizations.

NOTES FROM THE CALL:
In these times of economic belt tightening, many of us are called upon to become a “slash”, to become a Project manager / business analyst or a project manager / technical lead or some other combination of roles on a given project. How do you successfully navigate the multiple roles you are required to play? How do you play each role successfully? In this presentation Steve Blais will discuss the problem and opportunity of being a “slash” and suggest some tips and techniques that will help you perform each of the roles more successfully.
