Risk Language and Getting Specific

Many people claim to manage their risks, but in many instances, they don't even know how to speak the language properly. In this compelling workshop, Carl Pritchard (Lead Chapter Author, Risk Management, PMBOK, 4th Edition) discusses the importance of creating a risk language that others can understand and live with. Carl examines the challenges in both identifying risk events and clarifying how to talk about which risks are truly worthy of our concern. He applies his light-hearted comedic style to a topic that often seems weighty and depressing and gives you the ability to engage in healthier and clearer risk conversations with your teams and management.

Carl Pritchard, PMP, EVP is the author of five project management texts and co-produced the landmark "Portable PMP Prep: Conversations on Passing the PMP Exam" audio series with LeRoy Ward. Carl is an internationally recognized lecturer and instructor. He is the lead chapter author for the risk management chapter of the soon-to-be-released "Guide to the PMBOK, 4th Edition" published by the Project Management Institute. He has served as a PMI Project of the Year judge, and is the U.S. Correspondent for the British project management magazine, "Project Manager Today."
