Volunteers Needed! I.e. Dire need for volunteers to edit podcasts, we will train you and provide tools

Dear PMLL followers (actually, you are all considered members to us)

We are in desperate need of podcast editor volunteers.

Our current podcast editor volunteers have been very faithful for a year and now we need to recruit more to help us catch up on podcasts.

As you know, we started this PMlessonslearned.com group back in 2006 as a free service to PMs. We depend on many volunteers to keep it free.

Please consider helping.
If you are even the least bit interested in learning what the podcast volunteer job entails, contact us via the contact us link on the website (PMlessonslearned.com) and we'll send you information. No obligation to you. You can review it and see if you think you could help.

We would especially appreciate it if some of those who listen to our podcasts would consider volunteering.

We're asking people to make a commitment to take turns podcast editing over the next 9 months.

What do you get in return? A group of very thankful people that appreciate the free services we supply to help Project Managers to make a difference!
And, you get the satisfaction of a job well done.

We're also looking at volunteers to help with:

  • Career Topic speakers, moderators and co-Host for PMJobShop
  • Contacting and lining up speakers for PM Best Practices calls
  • Providing speakers with all they need prior to being on a call
  • Help with publishing some pages on our website (which is actually just a blog)
  • Mentoring and being mentored

Some members accidentally removed from Linkedin group

I accidentally removed about 50 members yesterday from our linkedin.com group.

Information about our linkedin.com group is located here:
http://pmlessonslearned.blogspot.com/2008/01/pmlessonslearnedcom-linkedincom-group.html

So, if you were removed from our linkedin.com group yesterday, it's nothing you did. It was an honest mistake I made.

The screen to add people who have requested to join the group is exactly the same as the screen to remove them. I thought I was on the screen to add people, but was on the screen to remove people. With one click of the button, I removed 50 people. There was no "are you sure?" and no "undo."

But using the "back" button on the browser I was able to see the people I deleted. But, I can only contact the people who are in my network. So, I emailed those of you I could (about 30 people). I can't contact the rest. I did however send the list to the help desk, we'll see what they say.

So, please request to join again and I'll approve you again. Thanks for your patience.

PRESENTATION:
Maggie DaRonco and Kim Shand from Vega Consulting bring a unique perspective on the job search. Join us tonight for our first call of the New Year as Maggie and Kim answer the question "Are you addicted to a paycheck & other considerations for you 2010 job search?"

PRESENTERS BIO:
Vega Consulting Solutions (www.vegaconsulting.com) was named for a triangle of stars that, to us, symbolizes the equality and interdependence of our clients, our company, and our consultants. At the same time this triangle represents the working relationship between recruiters, sales and consultants.

Our industry, more than many, requires the ability to think like an entrepreneur and still be effective in a team. Vega embodies an entrepreneurial spirit while maintaining the team based culture that has been fundamental to our success.

We have refined an appropriate blend of people, experience, infrastructure, and quality to help support the growth of our team members without suffocating them under layers of management, rules, and restrictions. Our priorities are simple and universal for every employee: personal growth; professional development; and financial security. Many consulting companies claim to be "full service" providers to their clients. But how many companies strive to be a full service solution for their employees? Vega Consulting Solutions can help you meet these varied, and critical, business needs.

Weekly PMP Exam Study Group

The goal of this group is similar to the Monthly PMP Exam Study Prep group, to empower people studying for the PMI PMP Exam (Project Management Institute's Project Management Professional certification examination).

However it is designed to be more interactive and members are expected to be much more involved. Unlike the monthly call, the weekly calls are presented by various members of the group and are not recorded.

This group was started to allow each member to complete the study of all materials which may appear on the PMP Certification Exam in a much shorter timespan than it would take via the Monthly group.

Membership to this group is by invitation only. If you are interested in joining this group please send a request to:

The Host of this sub-group is David Radkovich, PMP EVP

This group holds weekly conference calls each Tuesday evening at 9 a.m. Eastern US time.
